Licence numbers 1-84, 86-110 are included. Licence no.85 is missing.

Function / Content

This series consists of office copies of mineral oil and coal licences. A licence was approved by the Minister in Canberra and then two copies were sent back to Darwin; one copy was kept by the Mines office, and the other was sent to the licensee. The licence enabled the holder to search for mineral oil or coal, or both, in the area delineated on the licence. Correspondence and copies of receipts were attached to the licence. Each licence includes the name of the licensee, licence number, and the location of the area with a map.
