Function / Content

This series consists of four approved applications for exemption from work, most for a period six months. The applications are dockets consisting of vertically folded Notice of Application for Exemption from Work forms. The back of the form functions as the cover of the docket and records the exemption certificate number, the name of the applicant, information about the relevant lease and the period and length of exemption. The first half of this form records the relevant mining/mineral lease, a period of notice given that work will be stopped, the period of time work will be stopped and on what grounds this has been requested. The second half of this form records the applicants signature and the date, and below this, there is a statement that the application must be posted on a conspicuous part of the claim and at the Warden's office for 30 days and that any objections must be lodged at the Warden's office within those 30 days. Some applications include associated correspondence.
