Function / Content

This series consists of a Head Office register of mining leases for District C [McArthur River]. The register records the tenement number, the total number of shares, the locality, the area applied for and surveyed, the date of application received and recommended, lease details including the approval date and gazettal date, the name of the lease, registered lessee details, transfers, exemptions, rent, survey fees and encumbrances. A label across the front of the register states "no entries 30/10/1985." The minerals mined within the lease parameters are notes at the top of most of the records and include copper, uranium, silver, lead and zinc. ML318C is an application for "all minerals of economic worth." An objection to this application was noted under encumbrances and by 1972 when ML346C was registered, that company has a note that a receiver has been appointed.
