This series consists of a single register in five volumes recording extractive mineral permits in the northern region of the Northern Territory. Each volume has an index which lists tenement number, date of application, holder, date of determination and previous tenure. The index and spine are different to the contents in volume 2 - where the index lists EMPN501; volume 3 - where the spine is labelled EMPN501-700 whilst the index and contents are EMPN501-701; volume 4 where the index lists EMPN702-895 with contents in the volume being EMPN702-900 and EMPN 900 has not been completed; and volume 5 where the index lists EMPN901-1157 but there are only contents for EMPN 901-960.Each page contains the more complete details for each tenement number recording security, status of land, survey plan number, area, locality, registered holder, details of transfers, minerals concerned, date renewed to, date of gazette, instrument issued, authority to occupy issued, date and time lodged, name of tenement, number and encumbrances. Not all details are completed for each entry in the register.
