Function / Content

This series consists of a single register in twenty volumes recording mineral claims in the northern region of the Northern Territory. Each volume has an index listing tenement number, date of application, holder, date of determination and previous tenure. Each page of the register records the more complete details for each tenement number recording security, name of tenement, status of land, survey plan number, area, locality, map reference, registered holder, details of transfers, minerals concerned, date renewed to, date of gazette, instrument issued, authority to occupy issued, date and time lodged, former title registration, number and encumbrances. Not all details are completed for each of the entries in the register. Some MCNs have an earlier date since they have been issued under the 1980 Mining Act to tenements already issued.
