This series consists of a copy register created, maintained and kept locally by PF Muldoon, the Warden at Tennant Creek, commencing on 21/06/1938. The particulars were obtained from the registers at Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and Barrow Creek from 14/11/1927. The front of the volume states that it is the Register of mineral lease applications, Barrow Creek, however, the volume also contains a register of surveyed mineral mining leases and a register of gold mining leases. The surveyed mineral mining leases entries, one page only, refer to leases 211-214, 242 and 259 at Wauchope Creek. The register of mineral lease applications contains references to a single number series and a single number series with 'BK' prefix. In the middle of the volume is the gold mining leases register which contains references to a single number series and a single number series with 'BK' prefix. For each of these sections the entries, divided into columns, record the application number, date applied for, hour, name of applicants, name and situation of lease applied for, area in acres, annual rent and protection fee, period of protection, remarks, and lease number. There is some correspondence stored within the volume and, in some instances, this has been pinned above the relevant entry.
