How to Use the Records

Volume 1 has a sticker inside the front cover stating " Titles still need to be numbered under new Act MC 47A - 50A. All other titles are considered under new Act". Volume 2 has a sticker on the cover stating "Applications for MC 147A still O/S [outstanding]". The register for series NTRS 3573 also registers mineral claims MC1A-MC30A, 1948-1957 at folio nos 70-99.

Function / Content

This series consists of one register in two volumes recording applications for mineral claims in the Pine Creek District. [Agicondi Goldfield District A] Each volume of the register records the total number of shares, the date of application and registration, the class of holding - in this case mineral claim, the area applied for, the area surveyed and the date of the survey, registration fee and rent, survey fee, locality and description of boundaries, date certificate issued, registered shareholder details, details of transfers, details of encumbrances, exemptions and rent. Entries make reference to any forfeitures, refusals, amalgamations and names of mines. Some of the registrations define the scope of the mineral claim to a particular mineral such as copper, lead, zinc, tin, bismuth.
