Function / Content

This series consists of a register of business licences and permits for 30, 50 and 80 shilling licences. Each page is divided into columns for; number, date of issue, name of holder, locality, date of expiration, and remarks. The volume was divided into three separate sections for 80 shilling (1907-1943), 50 shilling (1907-1922) and 30 shilling (1908-1923) licences. A note in the 80 shillings section explains the Mining Ordinance 1939 changed the wording from business licence to business permit. Entries after 1939 are for business permits.
