This series consists of correspondence files relating to the resale, leasing and valuation of properties acquired under the Darwin Land Acquisition Act 1945. Former owners, who had returned to Darwin, were given preference to repurchase improvements based on the amount of compensation paid by the Commonwealth in 1946. File no.1, Darwin, acquired property values, includes five schedules relating to former owners, resale to tenants, resale for removal, buildings available for sale, and demolition of buildings. File no.2 contains lists of residents in Darwin during February 1946 with the following details; section number, and name of occupant. File no.3 includes a copy of the numerical holdings schedules for Darwin, and a list of short term leases in Darwin with the following information; section, lessee, and remarks.
