Function / Content

This series consists of a register of timber and miscellaneous licences in the Darwin, Roper River, and Borroloola districts. Details were recorded in the volume under the following headings; number of licence, for removal of (eg timber, sand or gravel), name of licencee, locality specified, number of months, fee, date of expiry, and remarks. The volume also records the following details of applications for dredging leases in 1899; application number, name of applicant, locality specified, area (in square miles), and date of application. One page at the back of the volume was used to calculate the royalty due on timber cut by A Woods during 1926-1929.
