This series consists of crown leases held in volumes (damaged due to a scanning project undertaken by the agency prior to transfer). Each volume contains various types of leases including: Agricultural (Cultivation Farm) Lease; Lease of Town Lands; Crown Lease (regarding Gold Mining Leases); Pastoral Lease; Miscellaneous Lease (for residential or business purposes); and, Mission Lease. All leases in NTRS 2175/P1 include maps of the leased area, and most are annotated with information relating to transfer, surrender, rent, discharge of mortgage, compulsory acquisition, power of attorney, caveats, or conversion of the land to freehold. Volume 140, book 1 is contained in NTRS 2175/P2 (box 1). NTRS 2175/P2 consists of individual folios as they were removed from the original volumes during an agency scanning project. The types of leases include: Lease of Town Lands; Darwin Town Area Lease; Church Lands Lease; Miscellaneous Lease; Special Purposes Lease; Agricultural Lease; Crown Lease Term; Crown Lease Perpetual; and, Local Government Lease. These folios are missing: 5 (Vol. 161); 8 (Vol. 197); and, 14 (Vol. 201).
