This series consists of one register in three volumes recording prospecting areas for gold [predominantly], copper and opal in District E, Tennant Creek/Warramunga Field. The register records the total number of shares, description of ground, area, the date of application and registration, fee, any extension of registration and associated fee, registered owner details including miner's right details, transfers, exemptions, crushings and encumbrances.

Recordkeeping System

One only numerical register with GPA [gold prospecting area] prefix with E [Tennant Creek/Warramunga goldfield] suffix. Volume 1 is labelled on the cover as a gold prospecting area register but also records one Reward area for gold - tenement 1E at Folio 91. Volume 2 records 2 tenements also listed in NTRS 4066 - GPA 101E and GPA 103E. Whilst some tenements are labelled GPA and some PA, they are all gold prospecting area tenements. Volume 3 records tenement applications for opal and copper in addition to gold.
