Function / Content

This series consists of primarily handwritten correspondence relating to the Euro Development Company (mining lease numbers 219, 344 and 345), lodged by HG Kirkpatrick and opposed by HG Nelson, either supporting or objecting to an application for Exemption from Work; each letter is stamped with the date it was received. The correspondence is addressed to the Warden, Tennant Creek Goldfields. The correspondence includes a letter from the Warden in Tennant Creek, HB Owen, who heard the case on 15 January 1936 stating the outcome in which three weeks exemption was granted. This letter also states that HG Nelson appeared at the hearing to oppose the application and, arguing that notices had been incorrectly posted, planned to appeal the decision.
