This series consists of applications and correspondence relating to the change of name/s on mining leases (either for the claim in full or part). The documents are loosely bound together in a volume containing applications for the years 1939 and 1940. These applications consist of complete Application for substitution of name of applicant for mining lease forms which records details of the applicant (later referred to as the former applicant), the details of the relevant mining lease (including its location) and whose name is to be substituted. The form is then signed by the former applicant and signed by the new applicant who is accepting the assignment. Signatures recorded include reference to the parties Miner's Rights numbers and when they were issued; both signatures are witnessed. Each form is marked or stamped with the date it was received by the Mines Branch. Some correspondence, addressed to The Warden, is included in the volume.
