Function / Content

This series consists of a single volume which is divided into columns for applications number, date, hour, name of applicant/s, name and situation of lease applied for, areas in acres, annual rent and protection fee, period of protection, remarks and lease number. The volume also contains additional notes, often recorded in red ink, regarding the withdrawal or approval of applications. Some entries have also been amended with stamps used to record, and then date, when surrenders were accepted and when re-applications were made. Only the first seven pages of the volume are used. Included within this volume is an entry relating to the lease (application number 999) of JMO by Sidney Pick and Fazal Deen.
