Function / Content

This series consists of papers and correspondence relating to the Mines Branch, Tennant Creek. Included within the series is the inwards and outwards correspondence of the Tennant Creek Mining Warden, who also acted as the Superintendent of Batteries, as well as notices of applications for exemption from work, battery reports, assay office returns, mining applications, applications for substitutions of names and metal supply sheets. Also on file are papers relating to the Air Raid Precautions Committee in Tennant Creek which include details of the division of the town into three groups (and their boundaries) and the role of the Wardens assigned to these groups and their duties. Also included is an undated paper listing the 15 people nominated as Air Raid Precautions Wardens in Tennant Creek, signed by LA Scott, requesting that the nominated people attend a meeting on 19/03/1942 to be given an outline of their duties.
