This series consists of one register of exploration retention licences. [ERL] The register contains an index inside the cover which lists the tenement number, name, date of application, holder, date of dertmination and previous tenure. Loose pages with the index have additional notes about some of the licences. The spine is marked ERL 1-100; complete records within the register include those for numbers 1-130 and the index in the front lists details for numbers 1-148. Each more complete record within the register records the exploration retention lease number, the parent exploration licence [EL] number, locality, map reference, graticular blocks, registered lessee details, transferee details, Northern Territory address, date of application, area, date approved, gazetted, expires, area and dealings. Some entries include a copy of the gazette information including a sketch map of the approved area attached.
