Function / Content

This series consists of a single register in seven volumes recording mineral claims in the central region of the Northern Territory. Each volume has an index listing tenement number, date of application, holder, date of determination and previous tenure. Some MCCs have a very early date since they have been issued under the 1980 Mining Act to tenements already issued as MC E. An example is MCC 65 which was formerly MC 37E lodged on 27 September 1954. Each page of the register records the more complete details for each tenement number recording security, name of tenement, status of land, survey plan number, area, locality, map reference, registered holder, details of transfers, minerals concerned, date renewed to, date of gazette, instrument issued, authority to occupy issued, date and time lodged, former title registration, number and encumbrances. Not all details are completed for each of the entries in the register.
