This series consists of a register of applications for protected mining leases, creation of shares, suspensions of leases, gold and mineral leases in the Tennant Creek district. The register contains the following sections; applications for protected mining leases (page nos 1-110), creation of shares (page nos 111-112, 119-120, 122), suspensions of leases (page nos 161-171), gold and mineral leases (page no.200), and gold leases (page nos 201-219). The Mines Branch, Tennant Creek was opened in 1935 and took over mining duties which had been carried out by the Police Station, Barrow Creek.
