How to Use the Records

The volumes are divided into a number of sections, sorting data by types of brands, animals and alphabetically by name of owner or property. Initially, the information contained in brands directories also appeared in the Northern Territory Gazette.

Function / Content

This series consists of Northern Territory brands directories, annual compendiums of information regarding livestock brands and earmarks. Directories include information about newly registered, transferred or cancelled brands. They also provide instructions and regulations, such as for the earmarking of livestock.
