Function / Content

This series consists of files relating to the identification of deceased persons after Cyclone Tracy. File number 1 contains part of a register relating to the identification of deceased persons which records; name (if available), sex, identified by, deceased found at (location), and remarks. File number 2 includes annotated lists of the deceased, photographs of the faces of deceased persons with identity numbers, forensic notes, and missing persons' correspondence with the names of persons who remained missing in 1983, 7 years since the persons went missing. File number 2 also includes an Order of Service for the Uniting Church ceremony held on 2 February 1975 in memory of those who died as a result of Cyclone Tracy. Care and discretion should be used when viewing these records as they contain descriptions and photographs of people who have died. The series may contain references to Aboriginal people who have died, and may cause sadness and distress to their relatives. No offence has been intended by making these records available.
