This series consists of a register used to record details of topographical maps, survey plan tracings, mining plans, and plans for the Darwin to Pine Creek railway. Information was recorded in both the front and back of the volume. From the front of the volume there are the following sections; survey work, tracings (pp.1-8), Hundreds, Towns and Counties (pp.19-20), miscellaneous maps (pp.29-34), Barclay and Others (pp.39-40), mineral [plans] (pp.43-46), mining (p.47), Darwin-Pine Creek railway (pp.53-54), and topographical maps (pp.60-62). The survey work, tracings (nos.1000-1081), Hundreds, Towns and Counties (nos.500-576), miscellaneous maps (nos.600-660), and mineral [plans] (nos.1-33) sections have pages divided into 3 columns titled; catalogue no, subject, and remarks. The Barclay and others section is a list of maps. The mining (A-I), and topographical maps (nos.1A-49A) sections have 2 columns titled; no, and subject. Information in the Darwin-Pine Creek railway (NTR1-NTR3) section is kept in 2 columns titled; plan no, and mileage. From the back of the volume there are the following sections; topographical maps (pp.1-4), tracings, survey work etc (pp.7-12), miscellaneous maps (pp.19-24), and Hundreds, Towns and Counties (p.31). All sections are divided into 2 columns titled; no, and subject. The number ranges for each section are; topographical maps (nos.1A-51A), tracings, survey work etc (nos.1000-1097), miscellaneous maps (nos.600-795), and Hundreds, Towns and Counties (nos.500-520).
