Function / Content

This series consists of pay sheets for Aboriginal workers at Hatches Creek and Alice Springs. The pay sheets record the following details; district, number, name, occupation, rate (wages), days worked, amount earned, trust fund (amount deposited into the Aboriginal Trust Fund), total amount due, and amount paid. The sheets were annotated with details of when amounts were paid into the trust fund and if they were certified correct. Also included are covering letters to the Director of Mines for some of the pay sheets. The pay sheets from Hatches Creek cover the period 1943-1944, while the Alice Springs district is represented by one pay sheet dated 19 October 1944.
