This series consists of annual and monthly mineral production returns from the Kurundi, Maranboy, Waggaman, Agicondi, Warramunga and Arunta goldfields as required under the Mining Ordinance. Box 2 contains personal returns from phlogopite mica parcels owned by GA Johannsen. Phlogopite is a wide spread member of the mica group used in the manufacture of plastics, rubber, asphalt roofing and drilling mud. Born in Denmark in 1876, Gerhardt Andreas Johannsen was an stonemason, builder and pastoralist in Central Australia from 1909 until his death in 1951 aged 74 years. Mr Johannsen undertook mica mining at Harts range and Strangways range during the war years.
