The Ordinance provided for a membership of seven appointed to the Board by the Administrator-in-Council for a period of three years. Meetings were held in Alice Springs. Chairmen of the Board were Neil Hargrave from 1956 to 1963, and Alfred Lionel Rose from 1963 until the replacement of the Board's functions by the Territory Parks and Wildlife Commission on 1 January 1978.
