Function / Content

This series consists of surveyors' field books which record the survey information of the named areas, notes and activities undertaken by the surveying teams. Included in the field books are references to the type of terrain, vegetation and type of soil. These field books do not have a consistent numbering pattern. The Roper River Road Party survey has brief data only which would be required for rudimentary road building, and does not appear to have the involvement of a surveyor.
