Function / Content

This series consists of a register recording the details of the burials of indigent persons, where the cost for the burial was paid by the government. The information recorded includes the name, age and sex of the deceased, date of death, place of death, date of burial, approval for burial (date and file folio number), date of registration of death and who the death was registered by, and comments. In some cases the cause of death, name of clergyman, religion and location of burial is also recorded.
