This series consists of computer printouts titled "List of people evacuated from Darwin" relating to the evacuation of Darwin after Cyclone Tracy. The list contains an alphabetical index by surname with the following details; telex, date, disembark (city), name (including names of children, and age or date of birth, destination if known), and remarks. The lists were compiled by the Australian Capital Police (when based at the Interstate Police Control Headquarters) and distributed to other agencies to answer enquiries on the whereabouts of people evacuated after Cyclone Tracy. Unit 2 contains an introduction explaining the compilation of the list, and refers to a small number of persons included on the list who were residents of Darwin but absent from the city at the time of the disaster and who were not evacuees.
