Function / Content

This series consists of registers of prisoners charged under Section 33A and kept at the Darwin Watch House. Section 33A allowed arrest and imprisonment for a defined period of time without a warrant. The titling of the registers varies slightly. Each register lists the charge number time and date, name, address, description, charge and section, property in and out, arresting member, searching member, release time and date, accepting member, and if a warrant has been issued.
