This series consists of records of equipment acquired by the officers stationed at the Darwin Police Station from the general public, to assist in the disaster recovery process following Cyclone Tracy. Each entry has recorded the item; a description; the owner; the circumstances; where located; if returned; and any additional particulars. For instance, one entry was about a milk supply truck left in the yard of the Darwin Police Station. The battery was removed to start the generator in the police yard and returned to the owner on 4 January 1975. Other items acquired from the general public for use in the disaster recovery phase included generators, front end loaders, compressors, utes, lighting plant, tents and tent fabric. Some of the items were reported to the police as missing items - rather the items were commandeered by the police for use in the disaster recovery phase following Cyclone Tracy.
