Function / Content

This series consists of one register in two volumes recording applications for mining leases in the Maranboy District. [District D] The register records the total number of shares, the date of application and registration, the class of holding - in this case mining lease, the area applied for, the area surveyed and the date of the survey, registration fee and rent, survey fee, locality and description of boundaries, date certificate issued, registered shareholder details, details of transfers, details of encumbrances, exemptions and rent. The minerals involved have been recorded at the top of each entry in most instances and include tin, gravel, uranium, tungsten, bismuth, quartzite, copper, zinc, lead, silver, wolfram molybdenite and limestone. Some entries refer to plan numbers. An alphabetical listing of numbers and names for the Maranboy goldfield is taped inside the front cover of Volume 1.

One only numerical register in two volumes, ML [mining lease] prefix with D suffix. Volume 1 has 3 Residential leases, RL 1D-RL 3D, inserted [in error] at folios 201-203 between ML 199D and ML 200D.
