Function / Content

This series consists of notifications regarding the appointment of agents for the Alice Springs region (then known as Stuart), these locations include the Granites, Tanami and Winnecke goldfields. These notifications vary in their composition and consist of a combination of, or one of either, an appointment of agent form, certificate of registration of agents, letters and telegrams directly appointing an agent as well as related correspondence. The majority of these have been folded to create a docket, with the registered agent number and the parties involved hand-written on what forms the front of the docket. The appointment of agent form records the name and location of the individual or group authorising an agent to act on their behalf, the name of the agent being authorised and this is then signed and dated by the applicant. Beneath this the relevant Warden signs and dates that they have registered the above appointment. These Wardens include JC Lovegrove and PF Muldoon. One notification on file (registered agent number 67) is regarding the revocation of appointment for an agent.
