Function / Content

This series consists of operational messages recorded by police communications for transmission to frontline operational police officers. The messages record the name and address of the caller, the category of incident (e.g. accident, prowler, loud music, death), and the message number, date and time received, type of complaint or offence, caller description of the matter (including people involved) and action taken. In some cases the outcome of the message is recorded on the reverse of the messages e.g. missing child found and returned home.
