Description

The Department of Regional Development and Women's Policy was created following further administrative change of the newly formed Department of Regional Development and Indigenous Advancement designed to refocus the Northern Territory Government on effective and quality service delivery and stronger regions. The newly renamed department now brought together the functions of regional development, regional services, indigenous policy, and remote services coordination from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Regional Service; the function of indigenous tourism development from NT Tourism and the incorporation of the independendant Office of Women's Advancement.
