Function / Content

This series consists of a register of selections relating to the townships of Palmerston (Darwin) and Southport. The register records the following details; number of allotment, place of register (Adelaide or London), name of selector or purchaser, number of land offer, date of selection or purchase, name of township, and remarks. Notes were attached relating to the transfer of land to another purchaser. The first 24 pages register selections in Palmerston (Darwin) during 1870-1880 with a number range of 1-993, and the next 10 pages detailed selections in Southport for the period 1870-1875, numbered 1-343.
