Description

The Northern Territory Department of Correctional Services was established as a separate agency with a responsible Commissioner, Ken Middelbrook, on 20 March 2012.
For a very short period from 12 December 2014, the department was gazetted in Gazette S125 as the Department of Corrections under the Minister for Corrections. This was changed with Gazette S127 of 17 December 2014 to the Department of Correctional Services also under the Minister for Corrections. By the 11 February 2015 with Gazette S12, the departmental name was returned to the Department of Correctional Services under the Minister for Correctional Services.
