This series consists of a register used to record details of land reserved for specific purposes (e.g. school or Aboriginal reserve) in the Northern Territory. The register is divided into two sections. The first section (pages 3-7) is titled "Tally of Reserve Areas and Notes" and includes a summary of a Crown law opinion regarding acquisition (page 5). There are three columns for res. no. [reserve number], description, and area. Page 3 details "Resumed & Revoked" descriptions, while page 4 relates to "Reserved" descriptions. The second section of the register (pages 11-96) contains pages divided into nine columns; file, res. no. [reserve number], gazette, location, area, purpose, plan, trustees, and revocation. The number range for the entries is 885-1268. All entries are crossed through with the annotation "see new register". An envelope affixed to the front inside cover of the register contains typewritten lists of Aboriginal Reserves (and gazettal dates), and lists of town proclamations. The documents are dated 15/9/1970.
