Function / Content

This series consists of a register of land survey plans relating to districts, hundreds, and towns in the Northern Territory. Pages 1-151 are divided into 7 columns titled; section no, plan no, FB [field book] no, surveyed by, date of survey, date of receipt, and remarks. The information captured relates to the following sections; Hundred of Bagot (pp.1-14), Adelaide River District (pp.19-26), Daly River District (pp.31-44), McKinlay River District (pp.49-50), Pine Creek District (p.55), Roper River District (pp.59-70), Alligator River District (p.77), Liverpool River District (p.83), Mary River District (pp.87-88), Victoria River District (pp.93-97), Katherine River District (pp.99-102), Powell's Creek District (p.105), Alice Springs District (pp.109-112), Tennant Creek District (pp.114-115), railway plans (pp.117-119), miscellaneous (pp.123-126), trig. plans (p.139), data plans (p.143), township of Darwin and suburbs (p.145), Hundred of Strangways (p.146), town of Palmerston (p.147), Hundred of Ayers (p.148), McArthur River District (p.149), Hundreds of Cavenagh, Bray and Sanderson (p.150), and Hundred of Bray (p.151). The register also has a list of plans sent to Melbourne, dated 7/11/1924, affixed to the front inside cover. A section listing plans returned from the Department of Home and Territories in April 1928 is included on pages 156-157. The list is divided into 3 columns titled; plan description, surveyor, and location. A 12-page document included in the back of the register is a field book register containing 4 columnsl no [number], surveyed by, date of survey, and description of survey. Other memos, dated 1917-1919, attached to the back of the register include a note listing 8 sites as "Land for Returned Soldiers".
