Function / Content

This series consists of briefing papers prepared for the Minister of Territories (Paul Hasluck) who, along with the Administrator (FTS Wise), met with Mr RA Vestey on 23 January 1954 to discuss the surrender of pastoral holdings by the Vestey Group. The papers include a summary of contents, copies of reports and correspondence from previous negotiations, handwritten drafts of the Administrator's letter to Mr Vestey summarising the outcome of the conference, and two copies of the 1945 map of pastoral holdings in the Northern Territory.
