This series consists of level books relating to the Darwin water supply, which were compiled primarily by Northern Territory surveyors to determine the height of survey marks or points with respect to the Australian Height Datum (AHD). Details of the survey measurements listed in the volumes include: instrument station; instrument height; station reduced level; reading of stadia wires, horizontal circle, vertical circle, code, remarks, horizontal distance, backsight, intermediate sight, fore sight, rise, fall, chainage, cross section. Drawings are also included in some books. They can be visually differentiated by their blue colour.
