Function / Content

This series consists of a register of miscellaneous leases in Darwin, Adelaide River, Borroloola, and Pine Creek. Pages 5-45 record the following details for lease numbers 1-21; name address, term of lease, term commences (date), purpose of lease, area (in acres), rent per acre, total rent per annum, lease fee, and conditions. For each lease details of rent payments were recorded, such as; date due, amount rent due, interest due, total due, date paid, amount paid, paid to (date), balance due. Annotations were also made relating to whether the lease was cancelled, withdrawn or surrendered.
