The register has two registration sequences: 510 (1928) - 1000 (1932); and 1 (1932) - 619 (1935)

Function / Content

This series consists of a register of amalgamations and applications for mining leases for Central Australia and Tennant Creek. The register has an index inside the front cover documenting the mine name, lease number, name and lease number. The volume has each page divided into columns for date, name of applicant, description of lease, and period. Although intended as a Register of Amalgamations, only the first 9 pages were used for this purpose, then there is a gap of 51 pages. The Register of Applications has adjacent pages divided into columns for date (registration number), name of applicant, name of lease, situation of lease, area in acres, land office number, yearly rental plus 10 shillings and protection fee, period of protection (rent paid to) and remarks. Application for substitution of name of applicant for mining lease form inserted loose between pages.
