Function / Content

This series consists of a register used to record details of land survey traces produced in Alice Springs. Each page of the register is divided into two columns titled: Trace No. [number], and Description. A note on the inside cover of the volume advises "Entries in biro are available at this office". Most entries are recorded in pencil. The descriptions of the traces include: details for a proposed extension of the Town of Tennant Creek (Trace Nos. 67/64 and 68/64), detailed surveys of Heavitree Gap (Trace Nos. 35/72c and 36/72c), and Haasts Bluff school site (Trace No. 76/75c). There are documents included in an envelope affixed to the back inside page of the register, including a letter from K. Mooney-Smith, Assistant Chief Draftsman in Alice Springs, to the Custodian of Plans in Darwin with a list of Alice Springs traces.
