Function / Content

This series consists of the master microfiche copy of the general orders, memoranda, and warrants issued to the Gaoler at Darwin Prison by the Sheriff of Darwin, and orders received from the Governor-General of Australia. Included is an order from the Governor-General, Sir Isaac Isaacs, postponing the execution of Tuckiar in 1934. In 1991 the Public Record Office of Victoria transferred the papers and microfiche copies to the Northern Territory Archives Service.
