Function / Content

This series consists of the master microfilm copy of a volume containing two registers, one for burials and the other for gravesite leases. The register of burials relates to the Darwin Public Cemetery (Gardens Road) and includes the following details; number of grave, name of person interred, age, country of birth, occupation, date of burial, name of clergyman officiating, late place of residence, depth of grave, whether coffin was lined with lead, and whether the grave was leased. The register of gravesite leases includes the following information; lease number, number of gravesite leased, name and address to whom leased, date when site used for burial, whether tombstone or monument erected, fees paid, and cash book entry number. The register was microfilmed in 1991.
