This series consists of administration files relating to Aboriginal children in the Central Australia region who were removed to government institutions. File no. 64/168 names individual children and documents their removal and placements, including reports from schools and welfare officers. File no. 64/172 contains statements relating to procedures such as "The selection and placement of part-coloured children in the states for education and vocational training", and school progress reports relating to individual children. These files were produced for a court case relating to the Stolen Generations, the Federal Court case of Cubillo and Gunner v The Commonwealth of Australia. The subpoena relating to all the files produced for the court case is in NTRS 2482. Some language used in these records (which reflects the language used at the time the records were created) may be offensive. This series may contain references to Aboriginal people who have died, which may cause sadness and distress to their relatives. No offence has been intended by making these records available.
