This series consists of an index of Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory and was compiled from the department's database of Aboriginal community profiles. The communities were listed in alphabetical order with the following information fields; community name (actual and other names), community identifier (by region, eg "AS" is Alice Springs), population, map number, resource community, electorate, location, community type (eg, pastoral property, town camp, gazetted town), land type (eg, Aboriginal land, pastoral), land remarks, water (type of water supply), sewerage (type of sewerage facilities), power (type of power generation facilities), and summary. Inside the front cover are two separate documents including an alphabetical list titled "Northern Territory Remote Communities" dated 27 September 1989, and a photocopy of a handwritten letter from Roy Hempel commenting on a town camps survey report dated 7 June 1990.
