How to Use the Records

The volume number and decision number ranges change in 2001 to reflect the change of government from the CLP (Country Liberal Party) to the ALP (Australian Labor Party). Refer to the index in NTRS 3353. Volume 94D is not included in consignment P2 as it is a duplicate of other volumes.

Function / Content

This series consists of the Cabinet records of the Northern Territory Government. The volumes include cabinet submissions, decisions and budget information. The Executive Council papers appear in the Cabinet meeting agendas as a standing item, however this material was bound separately (see NTRS 3351). Volumes 658 and 659 were not received into the custody of the Northern Territory Archives Service. Volume 359 incorrectly spine labelled as Volume 328. Some language used in these records (which reflects the language used at the time the records were created) may be offensive. This collection may contain references to Aboriginal people who have died, which may cause sadness and distress to their relatives. No offence has been intended by making these records available. Care and discretion should be used when viewing these records.
