Function / Content

This series consists of a reference microfiche copy of the prisoners work book. The work journal records the daily activities and employment of prisoners both inside and outside the jail. The record book, completed and signed by the Gaoler, also details long and short sentenced prisoners and total number of prisoners each day. The record book and microfiche copies were transferred to the Northern Territory Archives Service from the Public Record Office of Victoria in 1991.
