This series consists of copy registers of mineral leases on the Agicondi (Pine Creek) goldfield. The registers contain the following columns; number, total number of shares, locality, description, date applied for, term, gazetted, date approved, date expires, posted, area granted, area surveyed, date lease issued, name of lease, registered lessees, transferees, exemptions, rent, and encumbrances. Volume 1 contains nos ML4A-ML319A, and volume 2 includes nos ML320A-ML501A. The Mining Registrar, Darwin, maintained two sets of registers for Darwin district and the Mines Branch, Head Office (relating to mining tenements and leases). The Mines Branch, Head Office, was moved to Alice Springs in 1942 and remained there until 1953 when it was moved back to Darwin.
